Day 1

Welcome to day one of my transformation journal!

I’m writing this for two reasons: one, it will help to keep me focussed, and two, to have a record of my daily choices, lessons learned, and progress made so that you can see, learn from and be encouraged by my process from start to finish.

Frist things first. I love myself, and I actually consider myself quite healthy! I currently eat a large variety of whole foods each day, practice intermittent fasting, workout most days, and also get a full nights rest on most days. I feel confident that my body is healthy on the inside and know that I am beautiful on the outside too.

However, I am ready for what I like to call “cutting edge”. I am ready to move beyond mediocrity. For many years I have valued building a life that is balanced, and although I still value balance, I can see now that what I thought was an ideal balance between hard work and ease was actually tipping too far into the ease.

I am ready for focus. I am ready to pain. I am ready for results.

And I have had enough failures up until this point in my life, that I think I have a pretty good idea of how to get where I want to be.

So, this is day one. Welcome aboard. It’s going to be a wild ride.

Today I trained by legs and glutes from home. It felt great. I’ve been traveling a lot lately and my workout routine has suffered as a result.

It felt great to get into the swing of things again.

After a weekend up planning for this, I actually went to bed last night thinking, I don’t think I am up for this! I was feeling tired and sad after a long day of travel and was down on myself for not having the motivation that I knew I needed, and I was not willing to force myself into anything.

I decided that I would just go to bed, get a good sleep and see how I felt in the morning.

And when I woke up in the morning, I immediately realized is that I had lost my vision. It is near impossible to motivate me into action without a vision. And so I took an hour or so to just sit with myself and envision that future that I want for myself, until I could taste it. And once I had it, the thought of a challenging low carb day didn’t feel so depressing anymore. :)

I truly believe that a vision of the body you want is important, but I believe even stronger that one must also have a vision of the life you want to have too—specifically the impact you want to have on the world, or in your community no matter how small or large that impact is. I believe that we all are born with the potential to be great as something, and that the only real life worth living is when we are connected to what we personally value and will make us feel proud. All other reasons to live, such are to chase stimulation or to be popular, loved or accepted are shallow in nature and will eventually fall apart.

So when we know who we are, and have determine what our life is about, then we can also focus on sharpening the sword, so to speak, or fine tune our bodies to carry our souls into our greatest potential.

Anyways, enough of that philosophical stuff. Let’s get to the meat.
